Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about Spring Foundation

How can I become a member of the Spring Foundation?
We recruit new members at UC Berkeley at the beginning of every semester. We look for passionate and self-motivated individuals who want to make a difference. No prior experience in education or charity work is required - creativity and commitment are what matter most.
What makes Spring Foundation different?
As an ASUC-certified non-profit organization, we are UC Berkeley's only charity focused on improving education and living standards for underprivileged children in rural China. Members gain leadership experience, professional skills, and access to our alumni network in companies like JP Morgan, Google, and Tencent.
Can I participate without being a member?
Absolutely! We organize various on-campus events throughout the year, including charity dinners, project incubations, and Rose Sales. Our Summer Visit Program, which involves teaching in rural China, will be reintroduced soon as COVID-19 restrictions ease.
What leadership opportunities are available?
We believe in flat management - every member, including newcomers, can become project leaders. You'll have the opportunity to lead teams, collaborate with peers, and create real impact in rural education. Your voice matters, and your efforts directly contribute to visible outcomes!
